Coffee Roasting at the Exchange Coffee Stall

On Saturday if you come down to Lewisham Clocktower at Lewisham Market for a coffee, you can get a bag of custom roasted coffee with your ristretto (from 'Caravan' through the Anfim, or Monmouth through the Robur-e, your choice...) or filters including Aceh Tengah. Lawrence is roasting with his mini drum roaster (He roasted some Montana in my garden last weekend and it proved delicious).

For anyone interested in the roasting process itself, we'll be charging the roaster every hour on the hour (as well as randomly throughout the day), which means that roasts will be finished 15-20 minutes past the hour.

We've kindly been given a variety of green coffee by Chris and Miles at Caravan, sourced through Mercanta. As such it seems like the proper gesture would be to give away the beans for a generous donation to Coffeekids. You can order your choice of greens, single origin or blend as well as selecting the level of roast depth (Continental not available!), and 20 mins or so later you can come get them after shopping for veg or just drinking too much coffee.

For those interested in having a go themselves, at 3.30 we will be demonstrating some roasting techniques that require no specialist equipment, or at least no more specialised than can be bought from your local DIY.

We look forward to seeing you.

8am - 5pm Exchange Coffee, Lewisham Clocktower, Lewisham Market, this Saturday.
